About the Author

C. A. Rodriguez has been writing for over sixty years. She has an M.A. and a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature, with specializations in Renaissance and Baroque drama, the nineteenth-century novel, and the epic/romance tradition. Her verse translations of two Golden Age Spanish plays that had never before been available in English--one an analogue of Romeo and Juliet and the other and analogue of The Duchess of Malfi--are still in print after a quarter of a century.

She is, in addition, a singer/songwriter, a performer, and the artist who created the covers for all the books of the Sequence, with the exception of RASHINGOR (whose cover is the work of respected comic book illustrator Thor Badendyck). A published poet and a playwright, Rodriguez has produced and directed her own work as well as a number of staged readings of the translations.

Asked why she writes, Rodriguez answers, “Because I am a pencil.”

She lives in the Hudson Valley with her family and an ancient cat.
